Life can put us in situations we find hard to process or deal with how we feel, guilt, sadness, loss, blame, scared, vulnerable, fear of making the wrong decision, other people telling you what you should be doing. Throughout our lives we all experience difficulties that we may find hard to deal with or cope with. Counselling provides an opportunity for you to explore these feelings with issues you want to present and to spend some time thinking about how you feel and what you want from the situation you find yourself in. As a Counsellor, we will explore what can be painful or difficult feelings to work towards what can be changed or explore feelings around acceptance so we can rebuild your confidence and self-esteem so that you can move forward. We will work together at a pace that is right for you, adapting the way we work to suit your individual needs.
I have worked therapeutically with a wide range of adult clients who have presented issues such as loss and bereavement, feeling sad, anxiety, stress, bereavement, depression, relationship issues, family issues, affairs, separation, divorce, bullying, homeless, self-harm, low self-esteem/confidence, redundancy, and work-related stress.
I have an interest in working with couples and helping them to understand how they have arrived at their current situation.
Being in a relationship can be one of the happiest times of your lives but when a relationship experiences difficulties, life can suddenly feel lonely and stressful and the focus becomes around all your annoying traits or lack of trust in your relationship. Couples come to counselling to work on these issues as a couple or to come to terms with the process that their relationship has ended and look for support in helping to understand why.
If you want to discuss any concerns you might have about starting counselling, we can talk over the phone before you make any appointments. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions so you can make a decision as to whether I am the right Counsellor for you.
