I am hopeful this provides you with the information and clarity you may need to choose, and trust in me helping you move forward in these testing times.

I offer face to face Counselling & Psychotherapy sessions from within my own confidential practice in Balloch/Alexandria, near Loch Lomond - The MindZone Community Cabin. I also offer secure online and video sessions if preferred (I studied and achieved an extended university qualification in online therapy).
My trained method of approach is Pluralistic, Integrative and Collaborative – I achieved accreditation to practice in December 2022, fully insured and have extensive work and life experience. My practice is fully compliant, quality assured and you can be safe in the knowledge that I am an ‘Accredited’ member of the NCPS who are fully approved and regulated the Professional Standards Authority. I continue to undertake CPD to enhance my study of skills practice, and am clinically supervised for 1.5 hours on a monthly basis.

After 20+ years of living what felt like a nightmare within my own mind, and not receiving the help I needed from the NHS (no fault of the MH Staff who work hard) I decided to take action by embarking on my own learning journey to help myself - not only did I realise I had a passion for learning and researching! but I very quickly found my own calling in life (as cheesy as that sounds!) my studies lasted over 4 long, and challenging years but I am very proud now to be in a position to help others from a personal but more importantly clinical and professional level. I am competent in utilising different models of counselling and psychotherapy – including Person Centred, Humanistic, Directive, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Psychoeducation, Psychodynamic, and various other models including Transactional Analysis and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

The model of therapy used depends on what we assess as the most suitable for your difficulties and needs during your initial consultation appointment, and throughout our journey of process of healing and reaching your mental health goals.

I will listen to you with non-judgment, I will truly hear, and see you, and help you identify your individual core belief system, emotions, automatic thought processes and behaviours, and together we can adjust these to move forward positively in your own life’s journey.

You have already taken a very brave step in looking for help and I would be honoured to be a part of your healing journey going forward, & help you overcome whatever is impacting you at this time.

If you can hold on and sail the wave which has been sent your way, I promise you can get through the stormy waters, and when you do, I promise you will feel more strength in your ability to cope more than ever, Mags@MindZone x
