As an integrative practitioner, I use a range of theories and techniques to meet the needs of clients, with a range of issues, across the lifespan. I have completed training in creative techniques as well as a Level 5 in CBT (2011) & Level 6 (2018) in Supervision.

  • Qualifications & Experience
As well as holding a Certificate and Diploma in Counselling, I have completed training in creative techniques as well as a Level 5 in CBT (2011) & Level 6 (2018) in Supervision.

I also hold a Degree in Early Childhood Education. This degree provided me with a sound knowledge of development psychology which has provided me with a lens to view clients under. I am qualified to postgraduate level.

My interest in Counselling was ignited whilst working for NSPCC (2002-2012) and it will come as no surprise that my counselling placements were carried out in schools. Having completed the Diploma in Counselling, I continued my counselling practice in schools as well as joining Contact Youth and Lifeline from 2010- 2017. Here I gained much experience in working with clients who were affected by many psychological difficulties including self harm and suicidality. During this time I spent some time in America Studying Risk assessment models, behavioural techniques in the de-escalation of intrusive thoughts and techniques in DBT.

I have also work on the Self Harm Intervention Programme with both New Life Counselling and Inspire.

As a Lecturer at NRC on various counselling Programmes and I am qualified to Post Graduate level. Teaching on these courses keeps me abreast on current research and changes in this ever evolving subject.
