Hello, welcome, and thank you for visiting my Profile. My name is Donna, and I am an experienced, professionally qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Hypnotherapist. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a Registered Nurse within the NHS for 16 years, across a range of medical and surgical specialities.
I understand how daunting it can be to engage in therapy, and how important it is that you feel secure and comfortable with your Counsellor and this is why I am committed to providing a welcoming, safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment where you can speak freely and seek the support that you need at this time.
I work from a Pluralistic perspective which means that together, we are able to explore what is troubling or distressing you using a range of therapeutic modalities and techniques. Essentially based within the Person-Centred modality of counselling, Pluralistic Counsellors are also able to work from alternative counselling modalities such as Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); ensuring that your sessions are client-led, holistic, and provide the right approach, knowledge, skills, and strategies for you, at the right time. The fundamental goal of the Pluralistic approach is to support you to find the best path forward for yourself.
I work across a broad range of presenting issues. This can be face to face in my home-based office in Southsea, Portsmouth, online, or via telephone with clients across the UK.
