Key Worker CounsellingMates in Mind

We all go though transitions in life, some of which we manage very well and others cause us stress, pain or sadness. When facing these blockages in our path it can sometimes be lonely or overwhelming and your own voice can get lost in the myriad of well meaning advice from friends and family.
I will listen to that voice and I believe that given time you will hear it too and have the confidence once again to trust yourself in making your own decisions to move forward on your journey. I work primarily from a humanistic Integrative approach as this enable me to tailor sessions to suit to individual needs and helps to build the therapeutic relationship. I have gained experience of working with a range of emotional, anxiety and trauma issues (including those listed in the ‘what I can help with section’) and I recommend clients book an initial telephone discussion to discuss their requirements briefly, before we book your first full therapy session.
I sometimes introduce creative techniques alongside talking therapies such as visualisations, art, clay-work, Sandtray and breathing techniques. All such interventions are only introduced with a clients full agreement and where appropriate to the therapeutic process.
I work with adults of all ages on either short or long-term, dependent on the therapeutic requirement, on an individual basis.
As the UK finds itself in an unprecedented situation, with the coronavirus pandemic at present there is still a requirement to work within Government guidelines. Therapy sessions are able to be held indoors and I also offer online video-calls for those who do not yet feel comfortable with face-to-face sessions, which has been shown to be very effective and allows for flexibility. Any questions regarding this can be addressed in the initial telephone discussion.
