Key Worker CounsellingMates in Mind

I am a fully qualified, (BSc (Hons), Dip.) professionally registered Psychotherapist and counsellor. I am also a member of The Northern Guild for Psychotherapy, where I trained. The Northern Guild is regarded as one of the best training organisations for psychotherapy in the UK. I am registered as a data controller with the ICO and I am insured, and enhanced DBS checked.

I am an Humanistic Integrative therapist, which means my "eclectic" style of therapy is adaptable to the individual. The integrative approach views the client as a whole, and considers many different therapy styles and approaches to find what works for the individual, and appeals most to their personality and attachment style. I use many techniques but specialise in Transactional Analysis.

With a background in Psychology and a combined experience of over 7 years, I have worked as an In house counsellor at an NHS GP surgery, and as a Senior Psychotherapist and Counsellor at The Sanctuary, Shildon. I can help with a range of presenting issues. I specialise in but not limited to working with the following:

Anxiety/Depression
Bereavement and loss
Neurodiversity
Identity
Confidence and self-esteem
LGBTQ+
Trauma
Sexual abuse
Anger Management

I offer both weekly and fortnightly face to face therapy sessions. I also offer online counselling sessions via Zoom - Get in touch to find out more.
