I have been a qualified counsellor for almost twelve years with a wealth of experience working predominantly with adults and couples, but also many years of working in primary schools and secondary schools.
My main theory is systemic counselling and I also offer clinical supervision via the same model. Systemic counselling theory looks at the person as a whole and the systems that impact on health and wellbeing in order to get an understanding of how small changes can impact on the way we feel and cope with life situations. It also addresses communication and the way we interact with others and how miscommunication can lead to unrest.
EMDR is a method used to treat trauma in a way that process the event and reduce the disconnect between the images and emotions and allow them to be filed away in a safe environment.
