Hello.
People come to counselling for all kinds of reasons and from all kinds of routes. Key to a good counselling experience is having the right counsellor for you. I am a person centred counsellor which means that I want to work with you as an individual. I don’t have a written structure or set of techniques that I employ I simply aim to build a strong, trusting relationship within which you can explore whatever area of yourself or your life you need to. Person centred counselling helps to peel away outside influences, given to us by family, friends partners, religion, our culture and society. It can help you to find out what makes you tick, what makes life worth living for you. What is important to you and what you want to do. It can help to relieve anxiety, depression and feelings of panic. It can lessen a desire to be in control and help you to embrace the changes that are inevitable in life. I work with empathy, kindness, generosity and gentleness. I also work within firm boundaries which create security, reliability, familiarity and comfort. I am solid and down to earth and at times I may be challenging to you although we are very likely to end up sharing a smile if not a laugh.
