The decision to have counselling is a really brave one, and it might be difficult to know if it’s the right time for you. You can have counselling for all sorts of reasons, and there’s no such thing as a right or wrong one. You might be feeling overwhelmed or anxious; perhaps you’ve experienced a bereavement or a relationship breakdown, or you might not know what the reason is, and that is okay. Sometimes therapy is difficult, and it can bring up things that are hard to face, but you don’t have to do so alone.

I specialise in working with trauma, including domestic violence and abuse. I offer a space where you can process your thoughts and feelings about what has happened so that you can move forwards. Therapy isn’t a race, and it can take time to process things properly. We’ll go at your pace so that you don’t feel rushed to have everything “sorted” straightaway.

You might worry that you won’t be believed, or there’s no reason why you’re feeling the way you are. Therapy can help you to acknowledge what’s happened without getting stuck in the past. You have the power to change the way you look at it, and recognise that you can choose a different path.
