Are you feeling depressed? or perhaps you are experiencing anxiety or stress, grieving for the loss of a loved one, a marriage, job or relationship? You may be experiencing emotional pain and distress, feel lost, scared or confused, struggling with your health, or caring for another who is facing physical challenges. You may be coping with exam stress, or bullying. It can be very overwhelming and you may feel unable to know what to do next or where to turn. If this sounds familiar, then I may be able to support you while explore these issues.

Why me?
I work in a person-centred way. This means I work alongside you as explore your thoughts and feelings. I won’t tell you what to do, or judge you. I am here to listen, and help you work through distressing emotions. Counselling can help you understand yourself better, give you clarity, so you can gain the confidence you need to move forward. It’s not easy, but working in a safe, confidential and trusting environment will help you work through these painful thoughts and experiences.

I work in an ethical way, following ethical guidelines to ensure your safety. This promotes the importance of providing a safe, confidential and trusting environment in which individuals can explore challenging emotions. Previous clients have described me as warm, accepting, approachable, caring, friendly and trustworthy.

First session:
I know it can be scary to attend counselling for the first time. It’s never easy to explore those things that hurt, confuse or scare us. In the first session, we will discuss how we will work together, and identify what you hope to gain from it. Ask as many questions as you need to help you feel comfortable. You are in control, and you can stop whenever you feel it is right.

Along with my private practice, I currently work as a counsellor in an educational environment and have worked in charities both for young people (16-25)and a women only charity. I have previously taught at both FE and HE level. Prior to this, I worked within the NHS as a trainer and project officer.

• Self-esteem
• Family Relationships
