Hi - are you feeling stuck? Repeating the same patterns of behaviour again and again in your life or relationship and going round in circles? Do you feel a lack of love/respect with your partner or someone close to you? Perhaps Covid or coming out of lockdown has increased your anxiety and the trust has gone - or you're feeling sad, stressed, lonely, angry, misunderstood, numb, or just not sure what you feel anymore . . .
These are stressful times so I am happy to offer a free 15 minute Zoom (video-cam) or telephone consultation with no obligation ... just a chance to see how it feels to talk.
People seek counselling or self-help for many reasons but often the attention is solely on the person, not the impact of behaviour on those around them. I provide a safe, confidential, therapeutic space working collaboratively with individuals and couples helping make sense of what might be going on personally and also the overall effect.
I am a CPCAB qualified practitioner, Accredited with the National Counselling Society and a fully Registered member of the BACP. I also work at Relate specialising in Relationship therapy and in partnership with Tavistock using Mentalization Behavioural Therapy (MBT) helping together and single parents in conflict achieve better communication.
I also offer Single Session Appointments (a one-off to off-load). If you are on a talking therapy waiting list or can't do regular sessions but simply need to talk through something weighing you down then you can, in confidence and without the worry or expectation of making any commitment. Sometimes, just one focused conversation can be an emotional detox to help us feel lighter ... and you can rest assured knowing that you could come back, if or whenever needed … no pressure.
My previous experience of working in the NHS and being a Leader for Samaritans made me conscious about giving more choice and autonomy to everybody when seeking support for their mental health. Using systemic and psychodynamic training with some neuroscience and a range of modalities, as you can see this is not a one size fits all viewpoint - rather an organic approach and validation of perspectives - along with a uniqueness and non-judgmental attitude to help you and your situation.
Good self-esteem leads to healthy boundaries leading to positive relationships and all are key to the foundation of our general mental health and overall sense of wellbeing. If you're overwhelmed, feeling vulnerable or struggling with any of the above in your personal or professional life, then please don't hesitate to get in touch.
