How I describe what I do:
My mam has said that when I was small my favourite word used to be "why", as I followed her around the house wanting to know as many things as I could absorb. I might have gotten taller but the curiosity of 'but what IS going on here' is still very much part of me. I think, if you can be curious about what's going on for you, as oposed to being critical or shutting your feelings down straight away, then that is when our awareness builds and we can move towards growth and empowerment.
In counselling we are often looking for the feelings that are driving your thoughts and behaviours. I use a trauma-informed model when working, which may sound like me asking "what happened to you", rather than "what's wrong with you".

As a counsellor, I don't have any of the 'answers', but I do have the resources, skills and curiosity to help you explore the problems you're having and guide you through your feelings. If you find talking gets you going round in circles and you can never quite get to the bottom of things we might use objects (stones, coins, russian dolls etc.) or resources I have in my room to look at things a different way.
If you feel any of the above may be helpful to you then please call, text or email and ask to book a 30minute free phone assessment. The free phone assessment is designed to gather some initial information and to see if you feel we can work together. Sessions can then be booked for Face to Face, telephone or Teams calls, which are £45 per 50minute session.
