I am an experienced counsellor with additional qualifications, life skills and many hours of client work in -

Relationships - we can struggle in all kinds of relationships. These with friends, colleagues, partners, family, in-laws, children, parents and even loss of a relationship can cause stress and upset. Sometimes it can be hard to try to unravel the problems on your own. I have life skills and experience in a private practice setting that has enabled me to help many people work through challenging issues. This has given them some clarity and reinstated their own sense of understanding. With this on board they have managed to make their own informed choices concerning problems that had been affecting their relationships.

Sexual abuse and assault (historic and current) - years working within a sexual abuse charity supporting the victims, the survivors and their families cope with the trauma that abuse can inflict. By giving the client space and time to be heard without judgement or question enables trust to begin the counselling process. I also work with victims of voyeurism - a often misunderstood crime which can have devastating effects on the victims. I have worked successfully with clients who's lives have been emotionally and physically violated by voyeurism and the voyeur.

Suffering with depression, sadness and anxiety can be a lonely place to be. It can feel that it takes all of your effort just to try and function day to day with no answers or chance of change in sight. By working with clients helping them unravel the emotions and feelings that can sometimes feel overwhelming is the start to help them gain back some control and positive wellbeing in life. Working together can help with feelings of low self esteem and lack of self confidence - enabling a fuller and more contended way of life.

Loss is a can be a painful and lonely place and the journey to navigate through it can seem unobtainable. Although friends and family can be there sometimes it is not enough and we may need the extra help to gain a sense of being able to cope. Loss comes in many guises and is not always loss through bereavement, It could be loss within a fractured family, loss of a friendship or even the loss of a pet. It always hurts and it is ok to grieve that loss so we can move on when we are ready.

The first step - Does it feel as though you are overwhelmed and everything is too much to cope with at the moment? Do you need individual time and space to talk about what is going on in your life. We can work together and take the first steps towards gaining back control or start understanding why you feel you feel stuck or struggle with painful feelings and emotions.
