During my work as a person-centred counsellor, I became aware that talking-based therapies can sometimes lead to a recycling of old patterns and narratives. I became interested in exploring the root cause and context of my client’s presenting issues.
I also became very interested in using a more somatic (using the body) approach, because the body holds so much wisdom. This lead me to do an additional 2 year training in facilitating
family systemic constellations.
I am passionate about a whole-person approach to understanding life and context, we’re influenced by the many systems to which we belong: our family of origin, our work, our cultural beliefs, spiritual or religious practices, our ancestral heritage and more.
My counselling work is about helping my clients understand these relationships, the loyalties and unconscious dynamics. When we start to see things as they truly are, not as we’d like them to be, or were told they should be, we become freer to make choices in life and work. A lot of my work is about helping clients to repattern their ways of thinking and behaving, that can lead to greater fulfilment.
