I have been fortunate enough to find counselling which is what I believe to be my calling, first and foremost I found counselling as a client at a transitional time in my life. For many years I have worked with adults with additional needs in many roles, I have always worked in a therapeutic manner whilst honing my interpersonal skills to be able to relate to a wide range of people. My work soon took a turn and I began working with looked after children as a Therapeutic Life Story Worker, which involves working with looked after children or adopted children and their parent/carer to understand what’s happened in their past, to answer their questions and confusions in a therapeutic setting so that they may move forward.

I am a qualified counsellor registered and accredited with the NCS. I am currently working with three charities when I am not working with my personal clients. I began volunteering with Ty Elis Counselling Services in 2020, Ty Elis Counselling Service is a non-profit organisation which works closely with the NHS to provide a free counselling service to people who may not otherwise have access to therapy. I volunteer for one of the UK’s biggest crisis helpline who do invaluable work for those in need, and I also provide counselling to a non-profit organisation which support families who have children with varying additional needs.

You may know exactly what you want to talk about or you might be confused by your feelings and unsure what’s causing them. Whatever the struggles, issues or even diagnosis that you may have, I am here to understand and really hear you, I’d like to meet you and see if our work together could make a change in your life. Finding a counsellor can be a very difficult decision, there’s a lot of choice out there which is wonderful and daunting at the same time. You may be worried about finding a counsellor that’s a good fit for you, someone you can ‘get on with’, this is something that’s explored throughout our work together.
What would like be like if you were back in control? If you had hope again
I am passionate about enabling/empowering you to feel heard and seen and not judged, and moving from being a survivor to a thriver. I am an integrative counsellor, which means I work with various ideas and frameworks in the forefront of my work, ultimately you as the client allow me to work in the best way that meets your needs. We are not bound by a particular approach, the consistency in the relationship is steadfast but our way of working like life is very much changeable and tailored to your needs. I have experience of working with a wide range of people with a wide range of issues, but it’s often the person. I offer a safe, confidential and nurturing space for both short and long term counselling.
