I am a Senior Accredited Therapist with 15 years’ experience. I offer a warm, friendly, compassionate and human approach. In collaboration with clients, I introduce simple and effective ways to manage difficulties, so that you leave counselling with understanding, self-awareness, and a set of tools and strategies to be able to realise your potential, and live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

I tailor sessions to individuals, we’re all unique after all and so my style of counselling is too. I am informed by the latest developments in neuroscience and psychological practice, and utilise an evidence-based approach. I am also informed by my own experience of therapy and how much it helped me with various difficulties. I remember just how difficult it was to reach out for help, how many times I'd talked myself out of seeking help, but I also know how life changing it can be when we find the right therapist.

At my heart I am a humanistic person-centred counsellor which means that I believe that people can and do change when given the right conditions to learn about themselves. I am also qualified in the third wave CBT approaches which include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness, with further training in Polyvagal Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology Solution-Focused and Somatic Awareness.

I value diversity and all that difference can teach us, whether that is race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, religious belief or disability. I have an LGBTQIA+ affirmative and anti-racist approach.

I am experienced in working with a range of presentations, including: anxiety, stress, substance misuse, bereavement, worry, LGBTQIA+, overwhelm, childhood trauma, workplace issues, depression, sexual assault, domestic abuse, chronic pain, trauma, and burnout.

We all deserve to live a life without struggle, and whilst we cannot change the past, through understanding we can learn to carry it more lightly and at the same time learn to open up space for the challenges of today.

Contact me today and allow me to help you on this journey.
