Part of being human is to experience difficulties in life, sometimes they can be overwhelming and this is where therapy, carried out in a safe, non-judgemental and empathic environment can make a lasting and positive difference to a person's life.
I work with individual adults and am experienced in short and long-term psychotherapeutic counselling; apart from my private practice I have worked with the charity Buckinghamshire Mind and continue to work with Clean Slate, a charity in Oxfordshire working with people who have experienced trauma and all forms of abuse.
I spent most of my working life as a healthcare professional then during a difficult time in my life, I sought help through counselling - a process which changed my life and I decided to re-train and change career. I studied at Metanoia Institute in London and Mercure Counselling and Training Alliance near Oxford. This comprised of Humanistic Counselling - Gestalt Therapy, Person Centred and Transactional Analysis at Metanoia and Psychoanalytic, Psychodynamic and Psychosynthesis at Mercure.
Since qualifying I have developed a keen interest in IFS (Internal Family Systems) Therapy and attended several CPD courses in this modality. I continue to keep updated through courses and ongoing CPD.
