I currently offer telephone and online counselling sessions, I understand that sitting in front of a camera can be uncomfortable for many, which is why I also like to offer sessions over the phone.
I trained as an integrative counsellor which means I use different techniques from a range of therapeutic models, to adapt and suit each client and their Individual needs. Some examples include: Person Centred, Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) looking at the individual person as a whole, mind, body and spirit.
Building trust and rapport are very important to the relationship as this helps aid a solid foundation for the work we do together and creates relational depth. I work at your own pace so sessions can be short or long term.
The aim of therapy is to help support you and explore your life, gain insights, have a greater self-awareness and to be able to face life challenges by changing behaviours and reactions. It can give you a new lease of life and help you to feel empowered.
In the first assessment we have a chance to meet, discuss your needs, any concerns you may have about counselling and if we both feel we can work together. I believe it is really important to feel comfortable with your counsellor and to be client-led to give you autonomy.
Sessions are booked weekly; it is usually helpful to have a few sessions and then a review to see how things are progressing for you.
