Experienced working as a Step 3 Band 8 NHS CBT psychological therapist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Step 3 Band 8 counsellor/CBT Therapist in Adult IAPT services. Case Management Supervisor, to which I have a proven record of providing effective Interventions to help individuals to manage their issues more effectively.
I am an intelligent individual of high technical ability and have constantly performed my roles to a high standard. I have a pleasant manner, jovial sense of humour, dedicated, well-motivated with high personal qualities which enhance my capabilities, along with a passion for helping others, as my professional history along with extremely strong professional references will support.
My approach is inclusive of the use of the 5 basic person centred skills of enhanced empathy, being non-judgmental, Listening, non-critical, and non-advice giving, however I am an excellent communicator and listener I quickly establish trust and excellent working relationship with the client at the centre of this approach, being respectful of diversity, ethnicity, sexuality and religion, I am proficient at breaking down any barriers which these individuals may face in terms of engagement in the therapeutic process, and understand the need for maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
Having suffered many issues in life including injury I have not just qualifications to practice but valuable life experience which I use effectively to empower others.
Having overcome these barriers has made me extremely resilient, along with being mindful of my own limitations, I further appreciate the importance to well-being of effective intervention and self-actualisation and awareness. On reflection I have qualifications to allow me to practice, however what makes me effective as a professional is my life experience.
I strongly believe that every individual has the right to access help, support, despite their barriers and everyone is valuable as an indidual and more importantly has a voice. These individuals are entitled to be listened too and afforded effective help and ongoing support and monitoring if required to manage relapse and further risk.
