My passion in life is empowering individuals, in their efforts to regain, as well as maintain their sense of resilience and emotional wellbeing. I value being practical and solution focused whilst at the same time allowing a safe space for depth of healing.

My passion for counselling and healing has been inspired by my own healing journey and lived experience with depression and PTSD. I am the author of Managing Depression with Mindfulness for Dummies and have had the joy of teaching meditation for over 20 years, including MBSR/MBCT, Self-compassion courses, MBSR Teacher Training and Professional Mindfulness Practitioner training.

I am an accredited counsellor and mindfulness MBSR trainer and currently only work in the NHS as a Health & Wellbeing Coach supporting our staff wellbeing utilising both mental health coaching and Mindfulness Based Interventions.

My mindfulness and clinical work is trauma informed and compassion focused, drawing from secular and evidence based mindfulness psychology, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, EMDR Resource Enhancement as well as the Buddhist healing tradition.

My meditation journey started just before becoming a Zen Buddhist monk at the age of 22. I completed a 5 year residency in mindfulness meditation, Buddhism, Chinese culture and language at the Nan Hua Buddhist Monastery (South Africa).

I continued to complete a 2-year self-directed research project in Mindfulness Based Interventions in an inpatient NHS psychiatric hospital. I gained my Qualified MBSR Teacher status with the University of California San Diego Centers for Integrative Health.

I am a member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society as well as the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches. I have both NHS clinical supervision, mindfulness based supervision as well as regular peer supervision. I am CRB checked via my NHS role. I live with my partner and our four year old daughter (Zen master) near the sea side in Bournemouth, Dorset, UK.

I AM CURRENTLY WORKING FULLTIME IN THE NHS AND DO NOT HAVE CAPACITY TO ACCEPT PRIVATE REFERRALS.
