I HAVE NO AVAILABILITY AT PRESENT
I’m what is known as an “integrative” counsellor, which basically means that rather than following a single therapeutic approach, I draw on elements from many different types of therapy. This means that we can find a way of working together that suits who you are, how you like to work and what is beneficial to you at different stages of your journey. This is important, because developing a strong therapeutic relationship is just like building any other productive relationship, in that we need to find a way of communicating and working together to achieve your goals.
I qualified 6 years ago following 3 years of study and have been practising continuously since I qualified. I haven’t provided a list of issues that I can work with because I believe that therapy is about working with you as an individual - you may have an issue but you are an individual.
As well as private practice, I have also been a counsellor for an eating disorders charity for the last 4 ½ years and have gained much experience working with individuals affected by of all types of eating disorder such as compulsive overeating, binge eating, bulimia, anorexia , orthorexia, failed dieting, EDNOS and other types of eating disorder.
What am I actually like? Well, friends and family would say that I’m approachable, positive, open, have a good sense of humour and put people at their ease. I’ve always been the one to tune in on other peoples’ feelings and seek to support and help them with personal issues. I don’t shock easily and am good at remaining calm and level headed when faced with difficult situations.
I live in the centre of Wells with my husband. I practice from home where my counselling room is comfortable, private and professional. Free parking is always available very nearby and Wells bus station is just 1 minute away.
Finding a counsellor or therapist that you can work with sometimes takes a few tries and it’s important that you find someone you can build a good working relationship with. If you’d like any more information about me or how I practice, please, feel free to call or email me, I am only too happy to answer any of your questions.
