About me

Hi, welcome to my profile and thank you for visiting. My name is Teresa and I am a 43year old mum of one. I have a long history in the medical & cancer nursing profession and am passionate about the emotional & psychological welfare of the people whom I care for. It is with this passion that I decided 5 years ago to train as a counsellor and set up in practice from home. Counselling, nursing & my daughter are the 3 greatest privileges in my life and it is an honour to be entrusted with a persons deepest and sometimes darkest thoughts and feelings. This alongside life's ups & downs & my varied life experiences helps me to provide a comfortable, caring and knowledgable environment conducive to helping clients feel free enough to share their feelings and to recognise & achieve their goals.

It is important to recognise that our deepest emotions and feelings are sometimes a mystery to us, or can seem so dark that we struggle to acknowledge or accept them ourselves - let alone disclose and discuss them with a stranger. This is why I approach the counselling process and individual clients with complete non-judgemental respect, empathy and confidentiality, fostering a therapeutic environment of mutual trust and confidence at all times.

some of the common issues I help people to work through are anxiety disorders, depression, family dynamics/issues, relationship problems, abuse, terminal illness, bereavement and loss, body image issues, phobias, general sadness, low self esteem & confidence issues.
