I began my training by way of a Master's Degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at the University of Derby which I completed in 2012. Wishing to develop this further I undertook further studies obtaining a Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy (talking therapy) which I practise now. I worked for almost three years as a counsellor for survivors of domestic violence and child sexual abuse at a charity in Barnsley. I set up in private practice in early 2015 and, also in that year, began working within a local counselling collaborative with which I am still greatly involved and to which I am deeply committed. I work integratively with a person-centred core with individuals who seek support with a variety of areas of their lives. I also trained as a couples counsellor in 2017 and, in 2019 trained with Krysallis (the Gamcare training programme) and now offer counselling to people living with gambling addictions. Also in 2019, I founded Westside Therapy, a lower-cost counselling service in Sheffield to which I offer as many sessions as I am able at a more affordable rate for individuals who might not be able to access other more expensive counselling services.
In 2020, I became part of the BUPA therapist network and in early 2021, I joined Sheffield Hallam University's 'Well-Being Service' as a 'Well-Being Practitioner'.
