Mindfulness Counsellor, practitioner of Buddhist Dharma and Vipassana Meditation, I have been passionate about psychology since I was a teenager.
I work as an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) in a primary school, I teach Bioenergetics and Sati Yoga and also lead transpersonal growth workshops, using Mindfulness practice.
The Mindfulness Counselling approach has its roots in psychology, mainly in the humanistic-existential, psychodynamic and transpersonal models, and in the Buddhist Dharma.
Regarding psychology, methodology and techniques are taken from different approaches such as Gestalt, Psychosynthesis and Rogers person-centered approach.
As far as Buddhism is concerned, Mindfulness Counselling is based on the most important teachings of Buddha about how to train, purify the mind and overcome mental suffering.
Practising Mindfulness Counselling means:
o reaching a space in which you can feel free to express yourself;
o coming back to your basic reality, your body, where repressed feelings and emotions are stored;
o feeling that all your feelings, emotions and thoughts are welcomed and deeply understood;
o finding an ideal and relaxed place in which you can profoundly be listened to;
o discovering your inner resources and your real self;
o starting a process of mental and physical natural healing.
