My name is Emma Iley.

I am a fully qualified counsellor with an advanced diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling. I specialise in stressed teachers, troubled teens, sufferers of chronic and terminal illness, carers, children / young people with ASD/ASC and SEND parents.

I have both professional and personal experience in each of these specialisms.

I use an integrative counselling style, with person-centred therapy at its heart, meaning that each session meets your individual needs.

Like everyone else, I have experienced life's ups and downs.

Prior to re-training as a counsellor, I spent 23 years working as a primary school teacher.

I have been married and divorced.

Ten years ago, I began being diagnosed with various chronic autoimmune conditions. After frequently flaring, I have now learnt how to pace myself better.

I have experience of parenting SEND children.

I have had periods of both anxiety and depression, including post-natal depression.

I volunteer for a cancer support centre.

I currently work with children and young people who have been affected by crime and I am the ASD / ASC team lead.

Having experienced the benefits of counsellors' support myself, I now enjoy being able to support others, as they begin to move forward positively again.

I am a professional member of both the National Counselling Society and the National Hypnotherapy Society.

I have my enhanced DBS and my safeguarding training is current. I am fully insured.
