I had a background in the performing arts and have always been interested in the human condition and in helping others. I studied counselling and Mindfulness before studying CBT. I studied Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, the original form of CBT, which can help us not only understand the unhealthy beliefs leading to the disturbance, but also provides a sound philosophy for how to live more happily. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a very versatile form of therapy based on cognitive science and a real understanding of what it is to be a human being in the 21st century. And I use Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is an effective and often quick way to process and so find relief from difficult or traumatic memories or experience.
