I practice as an Integrative Counsellor; using a Person Centred approach, I selectively incorporate techniques from other counselling theories to meet a client’s needs. I believe that a counselling relationship offering trust, safety, lack of judgement and empathy is the first step towards healing and change for a client. My approach to common mental health issues and other psychological problems, is to recognise the three dimensions within which they have developed:
(1) one’s thoughts and feelings
(2) one’s relationships
(3) one’s life stage.
As well as being a professional counsellor, I am a skilled teacher and facilitator in further and higher education, tutor training and counsellor training.
