I was drawn to counselling as an extension of my years as an HR director and helping others overcome mental health issues and day to day anxiety in the workplace.
I realised that so many people suffered in silence and felt that seeing a counsellor had a stigma attached to it. I wanted to break that stigma and allow more people to seek help without getting labelled as unfit. I have been drawn to young people with autism as there is so much that is still unknown and also so many yet to be diagnosed properly and help of support and given tools to cope with the anxiety that they face is so important.
PTSD is another area that I have been drawn to as I lived through the war in Lebanon in 1974 as a child and saw many things that no-one should see in their lifetimes. There is no judgment just understanding and assistance to work through the anxiety stress and trauma.
In corporate settings with my training as an HR director, I am good with dealing with internal conflicts and defusing conflicts - group mindfulness and meditation therapies to help reduce anxieties and stress and I have great presentation skills so I can teach others to present to other individuals or groups.
I have also helped people prepare for interviews and large meetings where sales are potentially life changing. Working with Betterhelp to provide counselling services
