Being Well TogetherKey Worker CounsellingMates in Mind

As COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, returning to life after lockdown might be just as difficult as it was when many of us were adjusting to the restrictions when they were imposed in March 2020. Things that once seemed everyday and mundane such as home and family life, socialising, hobbies, relationships with work colleagues, commuting to work, the jobs we do and the places we do them might be very different and might feel very challenging. There’s also good reason to be anxious about COVID variants.

Of course all of these challenges are coming alongside all the other challenges that modern life could bring before the global pandemic changed almost every aspect of our lives.

I believe that everyone deserves good health in all aspects of their physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual lives. That’s why the work we do together will be holistic and use an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy, which means I’ll draw on a range of skills and theories to ensure our work together is based on what you need.

If you choose me as your therapist we’ll begin by making sure you feel supported and secure when we’re working together. Once that’s in place, we can start to explore the reasons why you’re looking for help. My role is to listen to anything you want to tell me and receive your words with acceptance, care and respect. There’ll be no judgment from me and I won’t tell you what to do because you’re the best person to decide that. I’ll offer you an opportunity to share the goals and ambitions you hold for your personal growth and development and be a partner in investigating and trying out ways to achieve them. You’ll be in charge at every stage of our work together, even if that means occasionally asking me for some guidance and leadership, and I hope that when the time comes for us to finish working together it’ll be because you’re feeling confident to face the world, with a clear picture of who you are and what you need.
