Approachable and compassionate, I understand how talking confidentially about your difficulties with someone who is not involved in your day to day life, can help reduce distress and bring clarity. At the heart of my practice is the belief that every human being is an unique individual, the expert in their own life and experiences. I consider every person has the capacity to grow and develop to their full potential, possessing the inner resources to know what is best for them and their situation. As a counsellor my role is not to give you advice, but to ‘walk alongside you’ in your difficulties, supporting you to explore your situation and find ways to live a more content and fulfilled life.

Before I became a counsellor, I worked as a manager in the business world for a number of years, leading both small and large teams. Although my role required a business focus, the wellbeing and support of each person in my team was important to me; especially during company re-organisations. Appreciating how helping people identify the things which held them back, enabled them to change their situation and experience a more satisfying life eventually led me to train as a counsellor.
