I am a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist, coach and stress management practitioner with a background in alternative therapies, energy healing, stress management and teaching with a specialism in ADHD.
As a person centred and integrative counsellor, psychotherapist and coach I utilise the following modalities;
Person centred counselling (being with you on your journey with whatever you bring)
Mindfulness, meditation and visualisation
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT and ACT)
Gestalt therapy (working with the whole person, different parts and being experiential)
Sand play therapy and creative expression (working with the subconscious to access emotions)
Solution focused therapy (coaching and taking action/future focused)
Stress management techniques and Psycho-education
I am registered and a full member of the National Counselling Society and I am also a full member of the The Association for Coaching
My aim as a coach, counsellor and psychotherapist is to offer a compassionate, healing and supportive environment to enable you to unpack whatever it is you need to address and find some inner calm, peace and contentment in order to reduce your stress, heal, and live a better life.
Counselling and psychotherapy can help you to understand better what is going on for you, it can help you to process painful or confusing feelings and emotions, and it can help you to gain new perspectives.
I work with my clients to enable them to help and understand themselves better by giving them tools to use when they are feeling stuck, disempowered, unsafe or ungrounded, which in turn can give them a sense of control, direction, safety and inner calm.
Gaining clarity and a different perspective on the life you have and the experiences you have been through can lead to dramatic changes, and realising that you hold the pen, which will write your story and your future can be extremely empowering.
In our work together you may discover what really is important to you and why, which may help you to discover the areas in your life that you would like to improve.
You can expect me to provide a safe and private space for you to talk safely and openly without judgement, and be compassionate, understanding, honest professional and empathic. I understand the importance of finding the right counsellor for you and the importance of being understood.
I love to work creatively with my clients and think outside the box and I am passionate about helping people on their journey of healing and self-discovery and as a qualified personal coach I am also passionate about solution focused interventions and positive psychology.
I believe that there is a great link between mind, body & spirit and I find we often hold the answers we seek inside of us including our own innate ability to heal and overcome adversity, if conditions allow it, and I have seen this in the many wonderful clients I have already had the privilege to work with.
I work with my clients Outdoors in nature, via zoom, or at my private therapy room.
I work with a wide range of presenting issues including ADHD, low self worth, low self esteem, low confidence, trauma, or clients who feel overwhelmed, confused, unable to cope and feel they have nowhere to turn, whatever the reasons may be.
You may be feeling hurt, rejected, abandoned, worthless, undervalued, angry, hopeless, alone, confused. You may be experiencing PTSD, trauma, pain, anxiety, or poor mental health as a result of your past or current experiences and upbringing or environment.
I have first hand experience in ADHD, and autism spectrum conditions and the communication difficulties that this may bring, as well as unhealthy relationships with food and eating disorders, as a result of poor self esteem and low feelings of worth, to name a few.
I understand the effects that short term and long term stress can have on our minds and bodies and relationships, and know that this is not to be underestimated.
You may feel stuck and be looking for a new direction or want to create new opportunities for yourself or just want to be able to fulfil your own innate potential, but not know how or what you next steps might be.
I can offer a safe and private space in which we can work together to find a way for you to reach your desired goals, or just to give you the support and understanding that you might be needing right now.
