As a therapist I will empathetically and non judgementally work with you on issues or troubles, looking at them through your eyes. I can support you to bring awareness to choices of changes that can be made to our thoughts or behaviours, reflect with you, or simply just listen.
As both an Integrative Counsellor and CBT therapist, working with adolescents and adults, I am able to adapt sessions to ensure that we are able to work in a way that most suits you and your needs.
The first step can be the hardest. It is often daunting not knowing what to expect. But know that you are doing incredibly even getting this far, and remember that you come to this journey as the expert on you. No one knows you better than you do. It’s my job to walk with you, to explore, to reflect, to be curious, to untangle, to listen and sometimes to gently challenge to give you a deeper knowledge and understanding of you and whatever it is that you are wanting to bring to the therapy session.
I work both Integratively and also solely with CBT. This means that we have a wide range of theories and tools that can be adapted to the sessions and tailored to you and this can change as we go through the therapy process.
I have worked both with adolescents in Education, Youth Offending and Community settings and also with adults in the Community, IAPT and NHS Crisis Line. I began my journey as a therapist in 2012 when I converted my Criminology degree to Psychology and subsequently gained an MSc in Psychology of Education. I then went on to study my Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling and, most recently in 2019, a Post Graduate (level 7) Diploma in Psychological Therapies (CBT).
I am currently offering sessions over the phone and online via video. I will also be conducting face to face therapy in my counselling room, at my stables, or outside walking in nature, from Spring 2023.
