I have been working in counselling and therapy since 2013.
In this time I have supported clients with the NHS, as referrals from private companies and local authorities, as well as my own private work. I have supported counsellors in training through their own therapy and supervision, and have taught a counselling course with a local provider. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself and have experience providing an informed practice for other LGBTQ+ folks to talk about their experience without fear of judgement or having to educate about their identity and life. This is an especially important area of work for me as a non-binary person myself (I use he/they pronouns).
As your counsellor and psychotherapist I offer a confidential and non-judgmental space to talk about the troubles you face in the present, as well as the difficult times you may have had in the past.
By treating to you with care, interest, and empathy, I will use my understanding of the importance they have had in your life to allow you the opportunity to develop beyond things you felt were holding you back.
Because each person and the relationship we build is the centre of the work we do, I work in whichever way is most useful for you.
During our sessions I will work with you in reflecting on your thoughts, feelings and experiences. By doing so you will gain new insights about how the influences on the issues you have been facing.
This awareness will then allow you better choice over how you may want to be in the future. Allowing you to create the life and way of being that is best for you.
