Who am I?
I am an experienced person-centred counsellor (and supervisor), and this means that I am interested in developing a warm, empathic therapeutic relationship with you, that embraces trust, privacy and regard. I will listen carefully to you with curiousity, an open mind and without presumption. I hope to offer you a space that is free from judgement, criticism or expectation so that you have the opportunity to locate what you want or need within your life and living. I will not be directing you - but I will be right alongside you, working in collaboration towards solutions that feel right for you, or perhaps towards accepting the things that you are unable to change.

Interests
I am passionate about counselling theory and practice.
I am interested in working with, and learning more about GSDR (gender, sexual and relationship diversity) and I embrace equality, diversity and inclusion. I warmly welcome counselling enquiries from all individuals and communities. and I particularly welcome clients from within the LGBTQ+ communities. Other areas of interest include trauma, ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), Fibromyalgia and other chronic and long term health issues. I am passionate about therapy and social change, combined with politics and a sense of social responsibility.

A Little History
My counselling history includes working and/or volunteering with:
- Counselling Xtra offering counselling to clients who have courageously brought differing, diverse and sometimes complex issues to counselling. This has included clients referred by the Family Intervention Project.
- I have also counselled at Rape Crisis (now known as Nottingham Sexual Violence Support Services) and therefore have experience of working on a crisis helpline, and counselling adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence, rape and post-traumatic stress.
- I worked as sessional counsellor with the Carers Federation offering counselling support for carers, both adults and young people, who were struggling with issues of caring, loss and identity. I also provided staff counselling.
- In 2014 I set up in independent practice and really enjoy the autonomy and the diversity of my work.
Prior to my counselling training I worked with Women's Aid for many years supporting women and children who were experiencing domestic violence and abuse. I also worked with housing issues in the voluntary sector offering resettlement and tenancy support to those struggling with housing, homelessness and tenancy difficulties.

My Practice
I am a senior accredited member of NCPS, and I am also a member of ACTO (Association for Counselling and Therapy Online), and as such I practice within safe and ethical guidelines. I am also registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) - reference no ZA327807, and I am fully insured to practice.
I offer one to one, individual counselling and also offer supervision (one to one and group) to counselling practitioners, helpline workers and crisis/frontline workers.
I am currently working online (Zoom) and by phone, and I anticipate returning face to face early in the new year - 2024.
A free 30 minute session is available so that we can meet, and you can explore how it might feel to be in therapeutic relationship with me and to ask any questions.

Supervision
I am a person-centred supervisor offering one to one, and also group supervision. Please feel free to visit my website for further information.
