NCS | Male suicide in the UK

We have officially changed our name to the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society!

Information for members

As of the 15th of May 2023, we have officially changed our name to the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

Our new and improved website is coming soon!

Did you know that each week in the UK 84 men take their own life? Suicide continues to be the single biggest killer of men under 45 and males still account for three quarters of all suicides in the UK. (1)

Project 84 is a campaign which has been set up by Campaigning Against Living Miserably (CALM). As part of the project, 84 life sized sculptures have been installed on top of the This Morning studio and the main ITV Studio. Each of the sculptures represents a real man who has tragically taken his own life.

Project 84 has been built to raise awareness, inspire conversation and as a call to society to take a stand against male suicide.

You can read about the men and their stories on Project 84's website. You can also find support and information on the page if you or anyone you know would like some extra support: https://www.projecteightyfour.com/.
